Wisconsin Dells: Cooling up the Summer Heat

Summer is almost here and the whole family’s excited at all the possibilities of summer activities. Although going to some wonderful vacation spots such as Wisconsin Dells could be very much tempting, there are more summer activities you could do. Even if you’re on a budget, you don’t have to scrimp on all the fun, here are several ways to have fun this summer without breaking the bank, and you can even earn some too:

 

  1. Make your own “drive-in” theater. If the night is breezy and clear, set up a screen and a projector outside the house and show your movie outdoors. Pick a movie that’s friendly for neighbors and kids to see too to avoid any problems. The whole neighborhood will be joining in, in no time. If you don’t have a screen, use a white sheet or a blank wall, anything works. Now pass the popcorn around.
  2. Wash the car. Any excuse to go outside and squirt each other with the hose is good for me. Plus, it makes the chore fun.
  3. Go to the dollar store and check out all the cheap stuff you can buy. Buy some chalk for the sidewalk and play hopscotch or just draw your heart out. Who knows what you can find there?
  4. Have a picnic. Summer is the perfect weather to have lunch or early dinner outdoors. Bring your favorite snacks, a blanket, some ice cold drinks, some music and you’re set. Even if it’s just in the front yard, it’s still an awesome experience.
  5. Run through the sprinklers. Put your bathing suits on and just act like you’re twelve again.
  6. If you really want to go somewhere far for the summer, there are a lot of cheap travel packages offered by of travel agencies.  Or you could pick some vacation spot like Wisconsin Dells which offers a lot of great summer packages that fit your budget.
  7. Hit the library. Many libraries subscribe to a lot of magazines and you can just read your fill and enjoy the air-conditioning for free.
  8. Make a lemonade stand. This good old trick is great for earning a little cash and spending the day outside. No kids in the neighborhood? You can spike your lemonade and make it great for adults to enjoy.
  9. Have a cookout! What better weather to fire up the grill, cook a few burgers and dogs and wash it all down with a beer? I’d have a cookout everyday if I could!
  10. Hang out at the mall. If it gets too hot, enjoy the free AC, grab a smoothie and just chill.

Enjoying summer doesn’t have to be expensive. These tips are proof of that.

  2. Dental insurance- What’s the quickest way to ruin a vacay? I say a toothache! However, if you’ve got your dental insurance covered then you should be fine. The insurance company will have contacts to a dentist in the area and will also shoulder the possible dental expenses that you will incur while being on vacation. You may need some tooth repair, or even a tooth extraction, but as long as you are not paying for it, you can spend the rest of your vacation time recovering from it.
  3. Medical insurance- The Wisconsin Dells is a pretty physical place. There are so many rides and different adventures to try out that you may just take a tumble. For medical emergencies such as broken bones or limbs, cuts, bruises, seizures or any sort of accidents, you’ll need to go to a hospital. When you have that medical insurance, there will be no need to stress over medical bills.
